Searching for flat water and reliable wind in Zanzibar? Kiwengwa delivers. Our lagoon is one of the best learning spots on the island, shallow, calm, and forgiving for beginners, while still fun for advanced riders.

No wetsuit needed, water stays above 24°C year-round.

We do recommend UV-protective long-sleeve shirts and water shoes (watch out for urchins on the lagoon floor!). We can provide both if needed.

When to Come – Wind Seasons in Zanzibar

Wind conditions in Zanzibar are excellent, but seasonal. Plan your trip accordingly:

Beginners: Best from mid-June to mid-October, and from late December to mid-March
Advanced riders: Best from mid-June to mid-September, and from early January to late February

June to October: Side-on-shore wind (South-West), averaging 16 knots
December: Northern wind, averaging 16 knots. Kite sizes 9m, 10m, 12m
